"Our mission is simple," said Lichelle Aberhart, ticket manager, Asessippi Ski Area & Winter Park and volunteer for the adaptive skiing program. "To improve the quality of life of persons with reduce mobility by experiencing the excitement of alpine skiing."

The Bi-Unique Ski or Sit Ski is available at Asessippi. Eight instructors and volunteers at the resort have received intense training from the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing, CADS and are ready to accompany you through your downhill experience.

There is currently one sit ski, available at the resort. It is able to accommodate both adults and juniors. The ski is designed to be tethered and guided by an instructor who controls the ski and coaches the person riding.  With practice the rider has the opportunity to gain control of the ski, learning to turn and speed check.

Other equipment is available from CADS and can be pre arranged for use through the resort.
Public inquires should be directed to Lichelle Aberhart or Dave Zerr at 204-564-2000.

An excellent video showing the use of a sit ski is available at the www.abilityplus.org website.
